Am I expecting too much?

This evening I have tried several times to reply to all the lovely and much appreciated comments on my blog posts. But my I-phone is refusing to co-operate. I can post comments from other people but not my own, which I'm beginning to find rather frustrating.

Most of the time I love my I-phone and would far rather use it to browse the Internet and use facebook and Twitter. I take photos and videos with it, use it as my diary and record my shopping list on it. Even my children love watching the videos on YouTube. (There is a fantastic version of Twinkle, twinkle, which my girls love).

But it seems my favourite piece of technology has its restrictions. Recently some of my apps have been a little tempermental. Occasionally they'll work but quite often they will refuse to open. When I started running I relied on IMapMyRun to track my distance and speed and I found the voice feedback was great. But after downloading the updated version, I could no longer access it.

Maybe it's because my phone is almost two years old. Although I think a decent phone should maintain it's quality. Or maybe I just expect too much from a little piece of technology!

This is my first blog post that I've written on my I-phone so I've decided not to attempt to add any photos, maybe next time! I've no computer access for a couple of weeks. So if I don't reply to your comment, I'm not ignoring you or being rude! I really appreciate the comments and advice and love that so many people are reading my blog! :)

  1. I don't think you are expecting too much at all - and I must say that I'm so very impressed that you can blog from your iphone. That must be so handy when you're out and about and want to share something. Hopefully you'll be able to post photos the next time as I really do enjoy your pictures. They really bring your blog to life!

It is a shame you haven't been able to reply to the comments but I expect that everyone understands - after all, as a busy mum of three you probably don't get a lot of time to yourself.

Have to go, my eldest is wanting to check his facebook, and I don't like to keep him waiting. Keep up the good work!!

  3. Thanks for your lovely comment, Donna. I got so frustrated with my iphone as I didn't have wi-fi either, so everything took so long to load!

  4. hi sarah, ive just started reading this blog and am wandering whats youre opinion on early weaning. My baby is 2 months and really likes when i give her bits of food that ive cut up really small, her favourite is snickers bar but she spat out salami. the health visitor is coming next week so do you think i should tell her as i no they can be funny about stuff like that but i just think whats the harm.

  5. Hanna, sorry for the delay in responding to your comment, have just been catching up on all the comments today.
I had a huge gap between my first and second, partly as I didn't feel ready for another baby. Although I have friends who have 2 or 3 children close together and it has worked for them, especially once they are a little older and can play together.
I was the first of my friends to have a baby which was quite tough and it took me a while to adjust. But I love being a mum!

  6. Gina, I'm not really sure about early weaning. I've weaned all mine around 4 months. With number three I didn't purée the food as much and she enjoyed eating lumpy food. My mum weaned me at 6 weeks, which was normal then. I think one of the issues with early weaning is salt and making sure young babies don't take too much. Also making sure they still get enough milk. I think giving babies only milk for the first 6 months is quite unrealistic and possibly to persuade women to exclusively breastfeed during this time.
Not sure about mentioning it to the health visitor, maybe see what she is like first of all. But it would be good to find out about early weaning.
    Hope this helps.

  7. Gina,

whatever you do, don't tell your health visitor anything! I started feeding Tiffany-Lee when she was 5 weeks and my health visitor nearly ripped me a new one! She even threatened to report me to the social. Do your own thing...Mother knows best!

  8. Gina,

I forgot to say....Sarah is right, don't feed them too much salt. My eldest, Alfie-Lee was taken into hospital after a McDonalds when he was 5 months old.

  10. Hanna, dear love you at that age, at least your 'special treasure' will tighten up again that you can please another man, mine didn't and my man calls it popping chorizo in the tesco bag. Im sure lots of other ladies on this site have the same issue. I suggest you dump postman pat and find a new man, theres lots of good sites on the internet to do that. There is one for uniform lovers as that seems to be your thing? Rhania

  11. Hi ya Gina,

glad you found the advice helpful. Who do the health visitors they think they are? A few certificates and they think they know better than you!

I was thinking about your weaning problem. If your kid wont eat salami, I'd start off with the Peperami Original then move on to the Peperami Hot and finally the Peperami Firestick. I thought Alfie-Lee was NEVER going to man up but he FINALLY started to enjoy the Firestick at 5 1/2 months.

    Good luck, Lee

  12. Rhania,

I nearly wet myself laughing at your comment! I've never heard it described as "popping chorizo in the tesco bag". My husband complains and says it's like "throwing a sausage up High Street". lol

  13. lee, im greatful for the advice - the good thing about peperami is there thin so princess will be able to hold it in her hand and i wont need to bother, think there healthy now as well with less fat than they had before.

just wandering what age you got tiffany-lee and alfie-lees ears pierced at - the woman in the shop wouldnt do princesses the other week but i really want them done now as ive bought her some diamonique earrings from qvc and it would be a waste of £15.

  15. Hi ya Gina,

Glad the weaning advice is proving useful.

I think it's disgusting when kids get their ears pierced really young. I waited until Alfie-Lee was 6 months before I got his done. I got him a pair of Man Utd studs which cost me a bomb but my wee prince is worth it. It was different with, Tiffany-Lee, she just wouldn't wait the full 6 months. She was always pulling at my Chanel gold hoops so at 3 months I knew it was time. She's always been very advanced for her age !

  16. Lee, thanks i new the woman in the shop was wrong. tomorrow were going back and i wont leave till their done. cant wait to see princess in her new earrings along with her fake tan and make up shell be so lovely all the other mums will be well jealous of her. i cant wait till shes old enough to do the pagants, we put her in for the Next baby compitition but she never won but i think it was cos we never put the make up on.
